Woo Hoo – The 1st Dog Friendly Map has arrived…

It’s gone a bit barking mad here at Dog Friendly Tours HQ Today!  After several months of research and working alongside Heidi from ‘Belfast In Your Pocket Guides, I have finally got my paws on the 1st ever Dog Friendly Map of Northern Ireland.

It’s a super guide for all NI Dog owners to keep in the house and glove box of the car – lots of Dog Friendly venues to visit for food and drink, or to stay with your dog.  All the venues included welcome our dogs all year round.

As the growth of Dog Friendly venues continues to rise, I became very aware of the need to create a reference guide that would meet the need of the growing population of Dog owners.  Like many, my dog Georgie is my wee chum and she comes everywhere with me.  It’s great to be able to end a big walk with her beside me while I grab a bite to eat or cup of coffee.  To mention just a couple of our favourites Tilly’s in Portrush is a great spot and now has a lovely warm wood burning stove for the Wintery days ahead – perfect after a big beach walk on the Causeway Coast.

One of my other favourites for food in Belfast is the fabulous Lamp Post Cafe where you can meet resident dog – Haku the Lhasa Apso.  The decor and food offering is superb and very handy to the Comber Greenway after a dander.

There are of course the hotels and accommodation providers that have embraced the need for dog friendly rooms, and I’m thrilled that most of them have chosen to be a part of this map.  Blessingbourne has super walks and accommodation, Belle Isle Estate, Fullerton ArmsLargy Coastal Apartments, Limepark Cottages, Marine Hotel Ballycastle, Tullymill Cottages, and fellow Dog Friendly Awards Finalist Inn on the Coast

There are over 40 businesses listed on the map which can be viewed via this link – Dog Friendly Map  – give them a like and follow on social media too, where you will get updates and information from them.  Make sure to use the #DogFriendlyNI in any of your social media posts.

The map is currently being distributed to all the venues on the map, plus vets, pet stores, visitor information centres and other dog friendly venues across NI.   Of course, there is no better way to visit some of these venues than on a super tasty Dog Friendly Food Tour  – and when you book onto a Dog Friendly Tour you will get a Dog Friendly Map in your doggy bag!
