My dog doesn’t really get on with other dogs.
These are dog friendly tours. If your dog isn’t friendly then its best that they don’t participate. If a dog shows signs of aggression from the outset you will not be permitted on the tour. Your dog is your responsibility throughout the tour and MUST be kept on a short lead at all times. On Winter Walks, there may be opportunities for your dog to have some off lead time.
I have more than one dog – can I bring them too?
Unfortunately it is one dog per human on the tours and walks with a maximum of 10 dogs per tour. Please do not bring additional dogs as you will not be permitted on the tour or walks. This is for safety and insurance reasons for all participants. There is the option of booking another ticket for a friend who could bring your 2nd dog. The prices listed are for one human & one dog. You can book for example : 3 people and 1 dog or 3 people and 3 dogs. Each human will enjoy locally sourced food and drink on both walks and tours.
Should I have breakfast before I come on the tour?
The ticket price includes tour related food and beverage. For the Belfast and Portrush Food Tours there is plenty of food and drink on tour. Our first stop in Portrush will be approximately 15 minutes after starting where you will have a bite to eat and drink. There are 5 tasting sessions. For Belfast our first stop is about 40 minutes after starting out, and there are 5 food and drink stops – plenty of food, so you will not go hungry! The Titanic tour includes food samplings during the walk, tea/coffee & refreshments at the first dog friendly stop and a super lunch made with locally sourced ingredients at the second dog friendly venue.
Is there alcohol on the tour?
Yes, alcohol is served on the tour and as such no children are permitted on the Belfast and Portrush tours. For those who are driving or prefer not to drink alcohol an alternative will be provided.(Please advise in advance). Don’t forget Translink now allow our four legged friends on public transport, so why not take the train to Portrush or the bus into the City Centre – better still make a weekend of it and stay in Dog Friendly accommodation. The majority of alcohol served is local craft beers and ciders, but if you prefer something non-alcoholic then please advise in advance. Any food or drinks outside of that offered on the tour will need to be paid for by you.
The Family Titanic tour is alcohol-free. Refreshments are served twice during the tour and guests will get to taste lovely locally sourced refreshments at lunch.
How long will the tour last?
The Portrush tour will last approximately 4 hours, Belfast Tour about 3.5 hours. The last stop on the tour is a bar and restaurant, and you are very welcome to stay on and enjoy yourselves with your four legged friends at the end. Winter Walks are of approximately one hour duration, followed by lunch – should be all done by 12.30pm
I have dietary requirements, what are my options?
Please advise at the time of booking if you have specific dietary requirements or if you prefer a soft drink. Where the food on the tour is not suitable for you, we will provide an alternative for you to enjoy.
I’m not used to long walks, will I manage the tour?
The Portrush tour is approximately 5km in length from start to finish, with stops in between. This equates to approximately 6500 steps and 260 calories! The Belfast Tour is approx 2km in distance again with regular stops. You should have a good level of fitness and be able to keep up with the tour group. There are 60 steps on one section of the tour and also a slight hill climb in Portrush. Belfast is pretty much flat for the whole distance. The Titanic Tour is fairly flat and covers 5km in distance. The Winter Walks are approx 5km in distance.
What if it is raining?
The tours and walks will take place all year round, in rain and sunshine (unless a hurricane is forecast)! Please bring clothing suitable for all conditions from sandals to waterproofs! Layers are best. In autumn/winter season it is advised to wear something bright or reflective to be clearly seen. Umbrellas are not recommended as you will have your dog on a lead, whilst trying to take pictures and eat food! But hey, if you have the skills of an octopus please bring one!
I’ve booked my ticket but can no longer make it, can I get a refund?
Unfortunately, refunds are not available (just like when you book concert or theatre tickets) however, if you are unable to make the date you booked, and there is availability on the next tour date (either Portrush or Belfast) it may be possible to transfer you, if 14 days notice is given.
